I use this as a center for students to use during reading and also math workshop.
Students can complete the activities during independent working time while I am taking small groups or teaching mini lessons to other students.
Print out one set of all papers. Paste the menu to the file folder and laminate it, cutting slits inside for the pockets. I then paste the questions on index cards and laminate them. Students may record all of their answers in their reading or math journals.
There are 6 pages which includes 18 task cards with questions and 6 additional blank task cards for you to write your own problems on if you wish.
Recognize and generate simple equivalent fractions, e.g., 1/2 = 2/4, 4/6 = 2/3.
Solve two-step word problems using the four operations. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. Assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies including rounding.
Ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers.
