We all love cookies! So, let’s bake up a batch of “number sense” using one of our favorite things: COOKIES! What a fun way to learn number sense!
You will find the following activities in this packet:
-2 different “Write the Room” activities: “Count the Room” and response sheet and a “How Many More Make Ten?” count the room and answer sheet
-“Counting on with the Baker”- Pocket chart activity for full group demonstration or a center activity for counting on from a given number
-2 types of playdoh mats: One set of making cookies (and answer sheet) and another adding chips (and answer sheet).

-“Quiz, Quiz. Trade” full group activity- can be used to practice/review numbers to ten, one more and one less.
-“Match It!” Partner Game- (My kids LOVE this game!) Directions for playing, game mats, cookies and number cards
-“Shake and Spill” cookies game- Directions for playing and answer sheet
-“What’s Missing?” number sequencing activity and answer sheet
-“Show Me”- instructions on how to make “Show Me” Paddles for your kiddos to write on and “show” their answer for comprehension “quick checks”!
-Ten frame posters for classroom display showing numbers 1-10
-Ten frame mats to use to practice showing/representing numbers on a ten frame, number cards and answer sheet
-Interactive Math notebook pages- filling cookie jars with the correct number of cookies (I use interactive notebooks for everything! And since I design/use all of my own TPT creations, I made these for my kids to put into their notebooks, so I included them into this pack, in case you also use interactive notebooks! They could also be modified and attached to construction paper instead of a notebook. )
-“Round Robin” counting on, how many and how many more make ten games for you to use in small groups or break your entire class into small groups for practice
-“Cookie Wars” game mats and cookies for comparing numbers
-Worksheets to practice the skills addressed in this packet
