Study balance and motion with your class. This lesson is designed to help students understand the physics behind balance and motion. Students will learn what balance is. They will explore center of gravity and counterbalance, to understand how balance is maintained. In the lesson, students also explore how motion can allow people or objects to balance in ways they would not be able to while remaining still.

This unit includes reading, writing, and coloring activities about balance and motion. A great way to integrate science with reading and writing.

This unit can be used by itself, or become a great addition to an existing curriculum. This unit may be used with FOSS' Balance and Motion 2nd grade Unit.
