New summer 2017.
Students will use their bodies to describe balanced and unbalanced positions. These forces are two forces working in the opposite directions. Then students will have arm wrestle challenges with other students and through observation and discussion further "un-pack" the forces that are at work. Students will record their findings. Experimenting with floating objects is part of balanced forces at work. Each force is clearly and simply defined, Students will have opportunity to identify these forces by examining a variety of pictures and descriptions of what is happening. An original poem/song is included . Cut and paste word and picture sort at the end may be used for assessment or as a separate activity. See-saw experiment and making a human table are activities to further experiment with these forces and balance. Hands on, fun, writing, recording that will lead to further questions and inquiry.
