Product Description
Balancing Addition Equations contains an addition card game that challenges students to balance equations. With an addition fact on one right side of the equation, students select numeral cards from their hand to place on the left side to balance the equation.

Teacher Tips:
• If you are printing multiple sets, print cards on colored card stock to color code. Color coding sets will help keep cards from getting mixed up with the wrong set.
• If you plan to laminate the materials for use in math centers, laminate them prior to cutting them out so that you only have to cut once. The cards may stack better if they are not laminated.
• Vocabulary: Help students understand that the = sign does not always mean the result or the answer, but it does always mean the same as. In 3rd grade and under try replacing the word equals with "same as." For example, 4=2+2 (four is the same as two plus two). In grades 4-5 replace the word equals with "equivalent."
• Visual Learners: Let students check their equations with a pan balance and some counters
