Balancing chemical equations can be a difficult concept for students to understand. I often have students that want to add pieces of a molecule (changing the subscript), instead of adding entire molecules (changing the coefficient). I created this product for my students to practice balancing chemical equations where the ONLY option is to add entire molecules. Students use cut out pieces to build and balance the chemical equations. For example, if an equation includes NH3, the molecule NH3 is available to students, but not necessarily N and H separately. This encourages students to only change the coefficient as they work to balance the equations. Check out the preview to see a couple pictures!
