18 pages of molecules! Plus a student handout!
All molecules need to be printed in color and glued onto card stock (for best results, laminating helps them last much longer). I make my kits color coded, and glue all of the molecules from a particular kit on the same color (ex: all of kit #1 is blue) as this helps keep track of the pieces.
This can be used individually, or with groups of students. It really helps them to 'see' how a chemical equation must be balanced with the correct number of atoms on each side.
This download includes 20 pages! You will be able to make 12 total chemical equation balancing kits, including 2 demos that can be shown on the doc cam, and one bonus kit for fast finishers.
At the very end of the file are labels for envelopes (cut and glue them to envelopes for each kit), and the very last page is a student handout where they record their work (it also has thorough instructions).
This file is in color, and is best for students if it's printed in color. There are about 18 total pages that include color molecules, but luckily, you only need to print one file for multiple classes.
This activity covers the following topics: chemical formulas and equations, molecules and compounds, double and single bonds, balanced and unbalanced equations, chemical reactions, types of chemical reactions, coefficients, subscripts, products, reactants, and the law of conservation of matter/mass.
