After learning the basics about how to solve equations, you can use this game of war to help your students review. Break the class up into groups of 4-5 students. Pass out small dry erase boards.... one to each group. Each team picks one person to record their final answer on the dry erase board. Every student must have the problems written and solved in their bell work notebook in order to win. Keep score ... one or two points for correct answers. The students love playing this game. It isn't a race to solve each problem.....but when most groups are done you can set a time limit.... usually 30 seconds or a min. This is an awesome way to review balancing.
