Listening and movement are two very important parts of my lesson plans-- especially in the younger grades like Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. This lesson was a hit with my second graders-- we do movement, creating our own form compositions, colored, used scarves, and more!

In this lesson, students will learn about form by listening to Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks by Mussorgsky (AABA). Students will be introduced to the vocabulary of form and using letters. Students will use manipulatives to show which sections are A and which are B. Students will also create their own form by using either movements or rhythms to create their own patterns.

This product includes a printable lesson plan, a powerpoint to teach all about form and Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks, manipulatives so students can show the form, and 5 printable worksheets
