DOUBLE FREEBIE! Two fourth grade physical science experiments about balloons and static electricity. You will need balloons, string, tape, a table or chairs, and a wool sock. Hang the balloons on string from a larger piece of string tied to two chairs, or just use a table and tie the balloons on strings to the table and let them dangle. (I apologize for not putting instructions in the document so I wrote them here.) The experiments allow students to observe and stop to make predictions before you try each part of the experiment. Then, students are challenged to record their observations and evaluate if their prediction was correct or incorrect. The second experiment is a balloon activity with a parter -- trying to see how long a charged balloon (you can rub it with wool or rub it on your hair!) will stick to a wall. Enjoy!
