Task cards are highly motivating and an effective teaching tool that can be used across the curriculum. I use them individually, in pairs, with small groups, or as an activity for the whole class. My favorite way to use them is in the game “scoot”. I tape the cards on the desks (or walls) and play musical chairs. When the music stops, the students have to sit at a new seat with a different card, or just move in a circle. Students use the answer sheet provided to answer. (Another version of this is to let the students pass the task cards to his or her seatmate once the time to answer is up.)
A student answer sheet is included as well as an answer key so students can check their work. You may want to have students show their work on notebook paper and staple their papers to the answer sheet.
