Product Description
Biology TEKS 4B - Investigate and explain cellular processes such as the synthesis of new molecules.
Biology TEKS 9A - Compare the structure and functions of proteins.
Biology TEKS 6C - explain the purpose of transcription and translation in protein synthesis.

This is an interactive and exciting way to get students involved in learning the process of protein synthesis. Students will practice the processes of transcription and translation to formulate different types of banana splits. Students also practice utilizing codon charts to help them identify specific amino acids - in this case the codon chart has a little twist. Some codes will identify ingredients to a type of banana split and in the end construct the type of banana split they want. It’s a little costly, but students will have lots of fun with this lab.
