Are you having a teacher observation coming up? Do you need a strong unit lesson plan?
I have used this unit lesson plan format and it has always received highest ratings. I wanted to share it with other music educators.
This is a sample unit lesson plan that you can use in your orchestra, band or chorus teacher observations. It follows the backward planning ideas. It incorporates a longer chunk in teaching where the culminating activity is a final performance.
The unit incorporates everything that you would do in instrumental classes:
• Ensemble skills
• Listening to different sections and different parts
• Different interpretations in the music
It is designed to make the administrative part of your teaching EASY while focusing on building your music groups.
The unit lesson plan has:
• Essential questions
• Assessment methods
• Differentiation in the music classroom
• Culminating activity is a concert and the lesson plan is centered around preparing for a concert (which is what al of us do)
Everything that your administrator will require and you need for a successful teacher observation!
The best part? I have left it as Word document. This way you can leave it as is, or cut and paste depending on your needs.
It is also great to have ready essential question posters that will complement this lesson plan. This product will be very helpful for your teacher evaluation as well:
