This is a banned book week activity that is meant to take about 45 minutes (with discussion or debate). There are 22 books and a short description of why each was banned. In addition to the activity, I have included five journal or discussion questions. These will allow you to have a new journal entry every day of banned book week. Students will learn about a large variety of books, and they will also learn about some of the most common reasons books are banned or challenged. The last question is an awesome opportunity for a four-corner debate, but I have also done it as a journal entry. I tend to make the call of debate or journal based on each class's needs. The activity is suitable for middle or high school students, but I think the ideal grades would be 7-10.
