Banned Books Week is celebrated in late September each year, which gives us all a chance to reflect on the literature that would be lost if we give in to censorship. It helps that some of the challenges are particularly silly.
These posters focus on 8 works of children's and middle grade literature and are meant to be displayed as reveals (with the reason for the challenge taped/stapled on top of the book cover, so students can try to guess the book and then lift to reveal the cover and a particularly treasured quote). They are best printed in color.
Texts include The Diary of a Young Girl, Many Waters, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Harriet the Spy, The Lorax, Bridge to Terabithia, Where the Sidewalk Ends, and A Light in the Attic.
