I like to use these pages to introduce bar graphs to my students. These worksheets allow the students to have choice in creating their bar graph, while also keeping everyone on the same idea so you can walk through the process together.
These pages allow students to come up with their own survey question and create four choices for their peers to choose from. Once they have collected the data from their peers, they turn their data into a tally chart and frequency table. Next, they take their data and create a bar graph. After they create their bar graph, there is a section for them to analyze their data in a sentence or two.
Once the students get down the process and the vocabulary, it is a fun extension activity for students who finish early or a fun check for understanding at the conclusion of a unit.
There are 3 student activity pages. I have included a 3 page sample.
