Bar and Picture Graphing
Here are some ideas to help get your Graphing Unit going in your classroom. These ideas will help introduce important words
(Key, Axis, bars, pictures, and Title) There is a sample bar graph and pictograph provided to label with your students,
questions to ask your students to get them to analyze the graphs, and some graphs you and your students can create together!
Many pages in this product have a color version and a black and white version for your convenience.
Common Core Standards this product addresses:
Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data
points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another
Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories.
Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems1using information presented in a bar graph.
