This set is perfect to teach beginning bar graph skills. There are 12 mats and 12 cubes - one for each month of the year. Children roll the cube then fill in the graph. Learners can work individually or in pairs. Roll and Graph also makes a fun addition to bar graph center.
To prepare the bar graph materials laminate the boards or place in a heavy duty page protector. Children can use erasable markers to record their answers. They can also use bingo chips, coins or anything else you have available. If you are not using washable markers, you can put sticky notes on the bottom of the bar grahs to record their answers. I have also used number cards for children with limited fine motor ability.
As an alternative to the assembled cubes, simply cut on the dotted lines and you will have a set of 6 cards which can be taped or attached with Velcro to a large square foam block.
