Bar Graphs – This is a wonderful resource to help you introduce or review the concept of bar graphs with your students while they get to have fun discovering what everyone’s favorite foods are! You can either select a few of the activities to use during your bar graphing unit, or you can do one bar graph activity per month since I have designed the foods to correlate with the months of the school year, such as apples for September, eggs for April, etc.
Each of the nine graphing activities includes a colored heading and word strips for your class graph, graph pieces for the children to color and place on the graph, and a correlating black and white printable for the children to fill out using the data from the class graph.
Note: I have also included six printables at the end of this resource that use the alternate spellings of colour, flavour, and favourite for my UK customers.
When it is feasible, I like to have the children do a taste test before we do the graphing activity. They really look forward to the graphing activity when they know they get to actually “taste the graph!”
