This third grade graphing unit includes everything you need to teach bar graphs and pictographs in your classroom in a FUN way! In 3rd grade, students practice answering questions about graphs as well as creating their own bar graphs and pictographs. The resource aligns with 3.MD.3.

Students first learn how to answer questions about bar graphs and pictographs. They then move on to making bar graphs and pictographs.

✅2 GRAPHING MINI LESSONS

There are 2 mini-lessons included. In the first mini-lesson, students create a bar graph using data they collect from their classmates and then answer questions about a bar graph too. In the second mini-lesson, students create a pictograph using data they collect from their classmates and answer questions about pictographs.

✅6 GRAPHING WORKSHEETS

Students solve 3 bar graph worksheets and 3 pictograph worksheets.

✅MAKE YOUR OWN GRAPH: POLL THE CLASS

Students ask their peers a question and make a graph of the data they find!

✅MAKE YOUR OWN GRAPH: DICE ACTIVITY

Students roll the dice 20 times. They make a bar graph or pictograph using the data they get from rolling the dice.

✅GRAPHING WRITING ACTIVITIES

Students look at the provided silly graphs and come up with 4 questions for each graph. Then, they trade papers with a partner and their partner solves the questions about the graph that they drew.

✅GRAPHING GAME

Students solve 36 task cards and get to move forward on the game board each time they correctly answer a question.
