Students learn about the adaptations of the Barred Owl. They compare adult owls to baby owls. Then they explore inherited and behavior adaptations that help owls live and survive. Students work in collaborative teams and research 1 inherited trait. They are given a card with the trait that they research. Then they create a digital mind map of what they discovered. Each group presents their adaptation to the class. The class learns from their peers by filling out a Barred Owl label sheet (kids jot down notes).
