Students will be able to place numbers on the base ten place value system.
Get out your base 10 place value blocks! Let students interact with the blocks by representing numbers on this download. For example, under "1" students would cover 1 square with a one cube. Similarly, under "9" students would cover 9 squares with nine cubes. Once they get to 2-digit numbers, let students discover that they can replace 10 small cubes with one long ten-stick.
Another option: students can color in each number representation. For example, color in one square under "1" or color in 11 squares under "11."
