Learning to move flexibly between expanded form, standard form and a concrete representation of a number should be fun! Allow students to explore and improve their skills while playing these base ten games!
•24 picture cards
•24 number cards (16 standard form, 8 expanded)
•2 pages of student directions (one for each game)
•1 Bonus Cut & Paste Independent Practice Assignment
In a traditional Memory (matching) Game, students will turn over cards in search of two cards with the same value. Some cards show 1-3 digit numbers in standard or expanded form, while others show a picture of their base-ten block representation.
The same cards can be shuffled and players can used to play Top It (war). Students practice comparing values as they each flip over one card. The player whose card's value is greatest keeps all of the flipped cards.
