Base-opoly is based off of Homeworkopoly, althought altered in multiple ways, and plays like traditional Monopoly!
This game is meant to give additional motivation for homework completion. Only students who complete their homework are allowed to play that day. The game offers random chances for small rewards. Not all squares have active rewards, some are just there as part of a path on the game board.
The special game spaces included in the game are as follows:
Run: Similar to the Go! square in Monopoly, each time you pass it you can collect money from the classroom economy system, if your classroom has one. Either way, it functions as a starting point.
Game Day: When a student lands on this square they’ve won a chance to play a board game with another student at a designated point during the day.
Line Drive:/Fly Ball/Ground Ball/Bunt Hit: When a student collects lands on these spaces, they collect the appropriate card. When one of each of the four cards are collected, the student wins a prize determined by the teacher.
Brain Break: When a student lands on this space, they draw a brain break card. These cards give instructions to give their brain a bit of a break from the work they’ve been doing.
Chance Card: When a student lands on this space, they draw a chance card. These cards offer a small reward that the student must see the teacher about.
Side Retired: When a student lands on this square they may advance to the Outfield Square.
Homework Pass: When a student lands on this square they’ve won a night off of one homework assignment, not a project. They must see the teacher when they get to this square.
In addition, this file includes game pieces, chance cards, brain break cards, a decorative sign, and a game board layout to help you put everything together!
