### Description

World Series on the brain? Use these baseball themed pages to engage your students in math, social studies, and/or reading.

There are several things included in this pack, so there are a multiple of ways to use them.

Map Skills (page 7-8)—Students color states on the map according to the directions given.

Baseball Math (page 10-11)—Use these pages to practice basic addition and subtraction skills, as well as problem solving!

Reading a chart (pages 13-14)—Students will use the provided charts to answer questions about the information given. Students are also asked to put information in order from greatest to least.

Batting Averages and Percents (pages 16-21)—Students use the given formula to find the batting averages of given players. The first page (page 10) is used just to get them used to what a batting average is. They will answer questions about the information given, but not find averages or percents. The next activity is differentiated with one page with all at bats and hits given and the other page giving less information. The last two pages of this section is a chart for you and/or your students to determine the batting averages of players during a specific game. You can have the kids record information while watching the game, while showing clips of a game, or by using stats from the internet or newspaper.

Reading Comprehension (pages 23-30)—Students will read a page of information about the San Francisco Giants and one about the Kansas City Royals. They will use this information to answer questions as well as to compare/contrast the two teams. Pages 26 and/or 27 can be used as part of an interactive notebook OR on its own as a foldable organizer.
