Learning is super fun with this new basic concepts unit! Paint daubers are used to mark the correct answer after the student listens for the concept requested. I created this unit for a student with cerebral palsy that has difficulty holding a pencil and controlling it effectively to mark answers. This student loves to use markers so I thought this would work! So, keep this unit in mind if you work with students with motor control issues. This unit contains:
Full color picture cards to represent the basic concepts (78 cards). Basic concepts in this unit include; bad, different, easy, good, happy, hard, pretty, sad, same, ugly, crooked, messy, neat, new, noisy, old, quiet, rough, smooth, straight, strong, used, weak, asleep, awake, clean, closed, cold, dark, dirty, open, backwards, day, early, fast, finish, forward, late, near, night, far, old, slow, start, young, deep, narrow, shallow, short, tall, thick, thin, wide. Plus more than one explanation of the following basic concepts for example, light (weight) and light (versus dark). These include; all, half, less, more, none, some, whole, empty, full, heavy.
Determine what level your student is on and decide if he or she needs slides 3-13 (these pages are more difficult).
Slides 14-19 are prepositions, multi-steps, and attributes in which you read the directions to the student and they complete the page with the paint daubers. When they finish the directions they can color the picture to fill in when you are working with someone else!
Slides 20-43: read the numbered direction page to the student and they infer which one needs to be dotted (in the correct order).
Do you need an easier level?
