Contains a PowerPoint presentation covering basic experimentation topics. This PP can be used for the Research Methods Unit in a Psychology or AP Psychology class.
The PowerPoint is HIGHLY animated and is designed to capture student attention. Each slide has transitions along with rich, moving media. Additionally, a guided note sheet is included in the zip file to help students follow along with the presentation.
Please note that the fonts "Tan Patty" and "Kalinga" are used in these documents. If your computer does not have these fonts installed, it will automatically replace them with a default font, which will cause it to look different than the screenshots indicated and require you to re-format the slides.
Please also note that this PowerPoint may contain links to outside websites or videos for additional content to expand upon topics. At the time of this posting, all links have been verified and are working, but I cannot predict when web addresses may change or be removed. If you notice a link not working, please let me know and I will rectify it.
Topics covered include:
-- theory, hypothesis, and experimentation
-- experimental purpose / cause and effect
-- independent variable and levels of the IV
-- dependent variable
-- confounding variables
-- experimental group(s) and control group
-- experimental ethics and the American Psychological Association (APA)
The PowerPoint also contains slides dedicated to practice elements to help student measure their level of understanding.
