After learning how to factor polynomials, including GCF, factor by grouping, difference of perfect squares, and factoring trinomials, this flow chart can help guide students through the process of factoring polynomials until students accomplish a mastery level.
When students first learn how to factor, it can be a bit overwhelming sometimes to decide what to do. I use this flow chart in my classroom to help students identify what their process should be. It lays out what they should look for and what to do in response. This flow chart really helps my students feel independent in their ability to solve equations.
