Replace finger counting with efficient strategies!
Teaching concepts and building mental pictures will help your students be successful in mastering the basic facts. Using ten frames and number lines regularly with your students will help you accomplish these two tasks successfully.
Basic fact work should be done 5-10 minutes daily. Since these Powerpoints are quick and easy to use, daily practice is available at your fingertips. Following the recommended order, students should master one cluster before they move on to the cluster. For example, your students should master Plus 1 facts before you move on to plus 2 and so on.
If you and your students want to keep track of their progress, I will have Pretest and Posttest available soon. I will also have teacher and student logs to record test scores so that they can see their progress. This is a great way to set goals with your students. They get so excited to see how much they improve!
