Your students will know the present indicative tense backwards and forwards, and they will be quite accomplished authors and storytellers by the end of this unit! This 200+ page unit download teaches the entire present indicative tense paradigm and includes the following:
-All six of my present tense lesson plans (one for each subject pronoun: il/elle/on, je, tu, ils/elles, nous, and vous) totaling almost 200 pages of instruction, stories, and activities
-Storybook Project Assessment with Rubric
This unit is the last that I teach with my French I students and the first that I use to review with my French II students. Save by buying the unit plan rather than each individual lesson!
This unit is designed for the secondary classroom (6-12+), but could very easily be adapted to the primary classroom.
By the end of this unit, students will be able to say that they can do the following:
Unit 6: Au présent de l'indicatif (4-6 weeks on block scheduling or 8-9 weeks on 50 minute periods)
In French I can…
-understand, read, speak, and write in the present tense using a large number of high frequency verbs from all groups (-er, -ir, -re) for all subjects (je, tu, il/elle/on, nous, vous, ils/elles).
-understand fairy tales such as Le Petit Chaperon Rouge (Little Red Riding Hood), Les Trois Boucs Bourrus (The Three Billy Goats Gruff), Cendrillon (Cinderella), and Les Trois Petits Cochons (The Three Little Pigs)*
-act out parts of these fairy tales out loud using a script.
-write and present to the class my own fairy tales/stories in the present tense.
*The specific fairy tale lessons listed above are optional to add to the unit and are not included in this product, but will be sold separately
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you first do my infinitives unit before this unit. Students really need to know infinitives as vocabulary before they learn the rules of conjugating them. Unit 5 on infinitives is available in my store.
