This test covers basic inorganic nomenclature including ionic and molecular compounds. Ionic compounds covered in this assessment include binary and ternary ionic compounds involving both common polyvalent cations and polyatomic ions. Molecular compounds include basic acids as well. Students are required to answer a short section of multiple choice questions followed by the remainder of the assessment of naming formulas and writing formulas from names. This assessment is based on 100 points and is in a word document format so it can be easily adjusted for specific needs. It was originally designed for a honors Chemistry class for juniors and seniors in high school, but can easily be adapted for non-honors, advanced placed, and college level chemistry as well.
An answer key is provided for convenience.
