If your students are like mine, they struggle with lab reports. So I created a basic one with directions for each section. My plan is on the first day of school to do a basic lab with my class and they will manually fill out their first lab report. After that, I will have the template one out on the server that they can use to type in their information, add data tables, and graphs. They can use the original lab report as their guide. Since labs are tedious to grade, having a group number on the top allows me to put all the labs together for that group, and I can skim over the lab details, and get down to grading their conclusion. I used to just have students hand in one lab report, but I find only one student doing the lab report each time. Having each individual student type up their own will allow for more accountability for their learning. If I just need to "grade" the conclusion, then it reduces the overall impact of grading.
