Wh Questions for Reading Comprehension:
This No Prep packet includes 15 pages of literal “wh” question practice for your students, an example page, and teacher answer key. Only literal who, what when, and where questions are included for this most basic level. Students can find every answer in the text. Each page has a drawing activity to help students visualize and better comprehend what they read. Please check out my other activities for more advanced comprehension levels.
Before your students advance to higher level reading, make sure they are finding the answers to basic questions in every sentence! Also great for a warm up activity! I have spent an entire class period working on a single page with students who really needed the basic break down and a review of core skills! I have used this activity with 2nd-5th graders with language delays. It was extremely helpful in boosting their reading comprehension skills.
Alternate Activity: Read these sentences to your students and then read the “wh” questions aloud to help your students improve their listening comprehension skills as well!
If you like this activity, your feedback is greatly appreciated! I hope you enjoy!
