Mad Libs are a fun way for students to learn the parts of speech. In this set you will receive a total of four stories. Two of the stories focus on nouns and verbs and the other two focus on nouns and adjectives. The story topics are versatile enough to be used at any time of the year.
To use this activity, have your students work in pairs. It is best if one of the partners (Student A) holds the worksheet on a clipboard, so that the other student (Student B) cannot see it. Student A reads the words that are in parentheses under the blank spaces (ex: adjective). Student B responds by saying an adjective, which student A then writes in the blank. When all of the blanks have been filled in, the students can read their silly story together and to the class.
