Product Description
This free reproducible "Multiplication Facts Poem" handout provides extra practice for children with basic multiplication facts in an interesting and humorous way. To decipher the poem, the children must first correctly solve each basic multiplication fact, then match its product's corresponding letter to the same product listed in the poem grid. A special emphasis is given to "square" products, as well as products of the usual "nasties" such as "6 x 9" and "8 x 4."

Once deciphered, the poem reads:

"There's fleas in my ears,
And fleas on my toes,
And even a few
Up my nose, I suppose!"

Aside from pure carelessness, the chances for student error are slight, being the poem itself provides a check against any multiplication discrepancies. What's more, the worksheet is extremely simple and quick to both review and grade.

I thank you for taking the time to download this free printable handout, and hope you are able to put it to good use. Moreover, I hope it provides some benefit and enjoyment to your students. Please check back periodically, as I will be downloading a host of handouts I have created and used successfully over the past fifteen years for use in grades 3 - 5.

This quatrain can be used in class, as homework, in math centers, to fill in a few minutes at the end of a class period, or as extra practice for those students still struggling with their facts (as well as those students who just never bother to take the time to learn their "boring" facts.)

Thus far, this poem has proven extremely popular and has been downloaded well over 5000 times! Please check out my store, "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" (formerly "The Teacher's Twilight Zone") for many more multiplication poems, as well as other things weird, wild, wonderful, and slightly "out of the box!"
