In these activities, the student will explore a problem solving strategy to strengthen their ability to answer open ended questions. Each activity may be used as a class starter, assigned as a classroom activity followed by a discussion of each student’s response, a homework assignment, or take 1 class period and have students work in groups of 2 or 3 then present their answer while defending their solution. The teacher can evaluate each student’s understanding of the basic mathematical concepts generated by these activities.
