These worksheet introduce beginning writers to basic sentence structures. The sentence included are:
I can ___.
I am ___.
I see ___.
I like to ___.
I ___ with ___.
Each sentence is practiced with a five day structure.
Day 1: Students copy each word into the box, write the final word, and color in the period.
Day 2: Students perform the same tasks as day 1.
Day 3: Students write the sight words in the boxes from memory, fill in the final word, and color the period.
Day 4: Students write the sight words in the boxes from memory, fill in the final word, and add their own period.
Day 5: Students write the entire sentence on a line, without boxes.
Each day includes a large box at the bottom to draw a picture.
These files are provided as MS Word documents. You can edit and change them as needed. I have prepared them for one specific student to use, not for an entire classroom. For this reason, I have used elkonin boxes for the child to write his name. You may alter these to fit the name of the student or simply replace with a line for use with a large group of students.
