Basketball Rounding Game- 212 Cards with 10's and 100's to round towards.
Materials: Cup (dixie cup will be fine), balls for each student (ping
pong, crumpled pieces of paper, pom poms, etc., and these
basketball rounding cards
I would suggest at most a group of 4 students play this game at a time.
Place the cup in the middle of the table and each student needs 1 ball to use.
2. Place the cards in a stack face down in the middle of the table.
Have students turn one card over. Then attempt to made a “basket” using the ball and cup . The first one to make a “basket” should then verbally say which tens place, or hundreds place depending on what they are working on earns the card.
The player with the most cards once time is up or cards run out wins.
Differentiate this game by using 2 digit or 3 digit numbers and having students round to the tens or hundreds place
Also to differentiate some students may need a number line or 100’s chart to refer to while playing.
