Battle of the Brushstrokes is a one day lesson plan/ handout to discuss the works of Chinese and Tibetan Art for the Buddha. This lesson combines both Art history and Creative writing. Lesson is broken down for grading purposes as well.
The style of this lesson is mastery. The students look at technical properties of the paintings first. Next is the feelings brought up by the pieces and finally a real world application for the process.
This lesson is a great rainy day activity for students of any grade and not only lets students think of the masters themselves but the style of these paints are something that can easily be recreated.
Future lesson plans found on this profile will build off of this lesson.
*please note: this makes a great review or a sub assignment as well*
