This fall-themed project allows for students to work on addition and subtraction to either 10,000 or 1,000 with OR without regrouping.
There are 3 sets of similar problems to differentiate for the learners in your classroom. Each set is labeled so you (or a parent helper) can copy the number of each set you need. The question about trick-or-treaters and candy bars in each set is a multi-step problem so you can also check how well your kids are reading the problems before they start solving.
I hope you and your students enjoy this math craft-ivity to help get in the Halloween spirit! My school has conferences the week of Halloween so this is a great independent activity for the kids to do while I work with groups getting Data Binders together to show parents.
