PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The following projects are designed to complement the reading of Be A Perfect Person In Just Three Days by Stephen Manes. This is a hilarious book about Milo Crinkley, a boy in search of perfection. Milo follows some crazy instructions he finds in a book from the library, only to discover that there are more important things than being perfect. This book has been a favourite of students in my class time and time again. After reading the story, you can choose the project you think will work best with your whole class, or use the two projects at the same time to help differentiate your instruction while still reading the same story with the whole class.

The first project is a ball created using pentagon shapes. This project has 12 tasks for the students to complete. The project has students:
- write a 4-5 sentence summary of the story
- choose their favourite event from the story, draw the event, and explain why it is their favourite
- Think about what they have learned about being perfect from the story, and write three things they think would be good about being perfect.
- Think about what they have learned about being perfect from the story. Write three things you think would be difficult about being perfect.
- draw and colour a picture of Milo
- draw and colour a picture of Dr. K. Pinkerton Silverfish
- choose an event from the story that they feel is important, draw the event, and explain why it is important to the story
- choose a character trait (from a list supplied) that they think describes Milo, and give evidence from the story to justify their choice.
- choose a character trait (from a list supplied) that they think describes Dr. K. Pinkerton Silverfish, and give evidence from the story to justify their choice.
- Explain what the author’s message is, and use examples from the story to justify their thinking.
- Explain why they would/would not recommend this book to a friend.

The second project is a cube created using square shapes. This project has 6 tasks for the students to complete. The project has students:
- write a 4-5 sentence summary of the story
- choose their favourite event from the story, draw the event, and explain why it is their favourite
- think about what they have learned about being perfect from the story, and write three things they think would be good about being perfect.
- draw and colour a picture of Dr. K. Pinkerton Silverfish
- choose a character trait (from a list supplied) that they think describes Milo, and give evidence from the story to justify their choice.
