This project can be used as topics for morning journals, having the students complete the task for homework the night before. It could also be used as an individual writing project, used for a homework assignment. I use this, personally to get my students to understand the power behind efforts and actions. I use it as a challenge with a set deadline and those who complete all the task win a grand prize, such as a pizza party, or something that rewards them for their efforts and their acts of kindness.
This study initiates leadership skills, builds confidence, and develops reflective writing skills. This project challenges students to make extra efforts at home and at school that leads them towards making positive contributions to their communities and lives. It also challenges them to reflect and write about what they learned.
