Whether it is Back to School or any time, the 'Be Kind' mindset and integrating acts of kindness is an important social skills lesson that should be taught to all students. Just follow the 2 pages of teaching tips and teach the 5+ mini lessons. This resource has a bulletin board, multiple anchor charts, writing prompts, a book to write, 36 situations to act out to role play how to respond and be kind, 2 spinning dials of ‘Be Kind’ choices, and 2 kindness cards that will help you make the idea of “Be Kind” more than just a poster or saying.
The anchor charts list lots of ways that your students can be kind given specific situations. Your class will have opportunities to act out situations that happen every day in classrooms. The activities focus on being kind to a friend, the class, and teachers. The students will get to write ways they can be kind. They will then document the impact of being kind. Your crafty students will enjoy creating a spinning wheel of kindness suggestions. But kindness isn’t just for school. Materials are also included to cover the concept of Be Kind @ Home. Create and send home a spinning wheel and a kindness card to encourage your students to share some kindness at home as well.
This resource is perfect for classroom teachers, counselors, behavioral instructors, or anyone working with students wanting to help them integrate acts of kindness.
