Product Description

Black Eyed Peas and Snoop Dogg's song, Be Nice, is a great song to use when discussing how choosing kindness and being nice matters. I created this song analysis to be used as an opener that will hopefully help one dive into a conversation about being nice, showing kindness, and/or discussing bullying. This would also be perfect for a Beginning of the Year activity as you discuss expectations for student behavior in your class. This song was first featured on Songland when Adam Friedman performed his song for the artists. Will.i.am picked his song and remixed it for Black Eyed Peas.

There are 5 questions on this worksheet for students to answer and the song lyrics are also included. I did not include an answer key since the questions are opinion based. There is one part on the last question where students must star the part of the song that connects with the quote. It is the only one with a direct answer and it is the line, "Just smile, I promise it'll change your life".

PLEASE NOTE- The beginning of the song has one man hearing voices of hurtful words said to him by others. There are phrases like "loser", "ugly", "trash" used during this scene. One of the last phrases is a girl telling him "to go kill himself." I wanted to make you aware because it is strong and harsh words. Bullying has become a horrible issue in our society that has resulted in a number of suicides. It has sadly become part of our jobs, as educators, to have this tough conversations with kids but I know these conversations matter.
