This unit is meant to be an introductory lesson in the area of character education. I teach the lessons in the first few days of the school year to set the stage for student reflection and goal setting. It is all centered on a quote from Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
As a result of these lessons, students will learn to reflect and their ability to make changes that will not only improve themselves, but those with whom they interact, thus creating a change in themselves that is reflected in the world around them.
This unit includes:
• Instructions for 3 lessons (the last could be divided to create 4 lessons)
• Links to video’s to support each lesson
• Posters of the quotes that are the focus of each lesson
• Reflection and Goal worksheets to guide students through the process of setting goals for change. The monthly forms are designed to be copied double sided and kept in a notebook or binder. Keeping the pages throughout the year allows students to return to their previous reflections and goals to move forward with new ones.
The posters are a freebie offered in my TpT store. The lessons and reflections sheets are only available in this set.
