This is a complete lesson plan for introducing how to make inferences during reading. In fact, I used this exact lesson plan during one of my evaluations, and I was very happy with the outcome. All of the items are in an editable format, so you can customize as necessary.
To up the "cuteness" factor, you can prepare file folders ahead of time for each kiddo, with a "Top Secret" stamp on the front and their names as detectives on the tab of the folder. Then, place all handouts and the exit ticket inside the folder. Makes it easy for material distribution, the kids love it, and it meets that criteria for "activities that are simulation-like" on our evaluation rubric.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated! If anything isn't clear, please let me know.
