With this product your students become a city manager in charge of planning a new "Minecraft" city. If your students are as wild about the Minecraft game as mine are, they will love getting to plan a new city!
Students must roll two (or three) dice to determine the area of each building in their city. The building can have any perimeter as long as the area is equal to the product they rolled. Their city is required to have at least the following buildings: school, hospital, police station, fire station, grocery store, and housing.
Students are provided with grid paper to draw their city and a recording sheet to record the area and perimeter of each building in their city. After students complete the assignment I let them draw in the roads and color the buildings to match what they are.
