Be the Graph- Distance Time Edition

Description
Teaching graphing and understanding graphs can be tough. But using scenarios students become points on a distance time graph. Create graphs outside or on your floor and the students will have to figure out how to ride their bikes from school and what does your graph look like from zombies!
There are 4 scenarios, lesson overview and students answer sheet with key included.
To Travel and Teach are two teachers who are motivated by travel to make our classrooms even better. This was inspired by riding and taking trains in Europe. I kept thinking about those cliche math problems when a couple trains are leaving stations at the same time and you have to figure out which is going to get there first? I always wondered how best to teach distance, speed, time graphs and problems in my science classes. After trying and failing multiple times, I finally came up with some scenarios that make my students "be" the graph. Take a look and maybe substitute bike riding for train riding, and maybe we can all learn a little more about some physical science, in the Underground!
