This is something simple and easy!
I started this today and it works like a CHARM!
I had the tickets ready. Then, we talked about the tickets and how to earn them. We went back and revisited our school’s expectations/rules.
Then, as a class, we make up a list of prizes that they can win. (*during the day or at the end of the day or end of the week.) It warms my heart that we made up a list of prizes that were from the heart. We have stuff like: Eat with the teacher, Sit with a friend, Sit in the rollie chair all day, Have a NO shoes day, No Homework pass, Prize Box, Etc.
I told them that if they were caught being their best ELF (self) that I would give them a ticket.
I put the tickets in a baggie and the baggie is in a special basket.
Once they get a ticket, they write their name on the back. Then, put it in the basket. Keep the basket/baggie near you.
Then, I told them that I can pull a ticket any time of the day. For helpers, chores, errands, line leader, etc.
At the end of the day, you can pull as many tickets out as you desire. They can claim a prize.
Now, IF your class is doing great as a whole, you can always put in tickets that say “WHOLE CLASS” on the back of the ticket. (I made sure to pull that one this afternoon! We decided to have a Slipper Day or No shoes Day tomorrow). How cool is that!?!
You could use this ticket system to let them earn a certain amount of tickets for items off your list. It is up to you!
