Beach Ball Statistics is an activity that helps students practice finding the median, mode, and range of numbers.
The teacher will need to label two beach balls with the words median, mode, and range. The teacher will also need to cut out the number cards and have music ready to play.
Students will use whiteboards to solve the problems.
**There are two versions of this activity.
See the direction page thumbnails for both versions.
In version two, students sit in a circle. When the teacher starts the music, students pass the beach ball to the right. When the music is paused, the person who has the ball looks at the word under their right thumb. The student announces the word and all students find that using the number cards provided.
The number cards are in sets according to font style and added details. Use one set at a time.
More specific directions are available on the direction pages.
This activity is found in the Always Love Learning store.
